We met up late Friday night at Wog Wog Campground on the Western side of Morton National Park for a big camp fire feast. It was a great campground with beautiful open woodland and big firepits.
After a lazy breakfast we headed over to Nerriga to begin our 21km loop day walk around the Budawangs. We parked the car at the locked gate, then walked along about 2km of firetrails and private land to the beginning of the walk in Morton NP.

The walk was reasonably flat the entire way round – following well marked fire trails (expect for one section on the Red Ground Track). The scenery and views were incredible – in the valley below the Budawangs and passing through heaps of different vegetation types over a relatively shot distance.

HOT TIP – do this walk in Summer lots of creek crossings and swimming opportunities!

Juicy Deets
- 21km loop walk along Redground Track and Endrick River firetrails with multiple creek crossings – some good swimming holes!
- About 2km through private land – best to do this first in the light
- Looks like there is a nice overnight walk that you could do through to Sassafras (40km total instead)
- Nerriga Pub has cold beer delish bistro
